Evaluation:

For my Illustration project I learned many things; I learned how to use Illustrator like a semi professional. I learned how to use the pen tool and it was the  tool that I used the most in my project to sketch my binoculars. However the challenge I faced was in doing my Illustration was drawing curves with the pen tool. It was kind of hard to make the curves dead sharp and I feel that I did not do a good job because my subject is very detailed and it has shadows and it is dark as well so my challenge was to do it to look real. In my view I feel it is about 85% real. My successes  are that I achieved what I drew in my mind by developing my object and what helped me is overlapping my object and sketching it with the pen too. Finally, for the future I need to improve my object and chose an object that is bigger in size so it is easier to sketch and it does not have any tiny details.

Definitions:

Proportion: Proportion is choosing a specified part of and item. For my binoculars it was a hard choice because I did not know what does proportion mean. But after getting some help from my colleagues, however after all I zoomed in into my binoculars to show proportion.

Balance: Balance is to have something balanced from different angles. Apple products like Mac, iMac, iPhone, iPad and Airport are all balanced in shape and the engraving for example the iPhone size is balance from front and back but the shape is different. New cars are all balanced in size and body shape.

Repetition: Repeating something overlapping using the same material or item is called repetition. Copying and rearranging item of a photos to be in a sequent order to give out different shapes that repeat each to do the principle repetition to show an overlapping repetition.

Asymmetry: Asymmetry is similar to balance but it is not balanced it has to be a bit shrunken or the shape is a bit wobbly instead. For my asymmetry binoculars i did a slight change in my illustration i just change the size from the center to show some difference.

Project Narrative:

These are my project photos of a Binoculars which I will be sketching the ones that I liked and I illustrate them using Adobe Illustrator CS5.

I chose my Binoculars for my project to do in my ART-251 course because it was required to choose a subject and tell a story about it. At the beginning my story was behind the Binoculars is I always loved to go to the desert and watch the dunes, camels and the wind swaying amongst the sand. But what interests me the most is bird watching and capture the birds with my camera. I like to use Binoculars to watch birds like falcons and owls that are far from me without disturbing them so when I use the Binoculars I try to search for a path in desert where I can reach to the birds closely without disturbing them and getting myself noticed.
